Growing up in today’s world isn’t easy for any child, but for many kids in our community, it is tougher than you may think. All young people struggle with making friends and fitting in, but what if you also had to worry about where your next meal was coming from or how safe it was for you to go to school every day? At Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence, we dream of a world where every child is given the opportunity to succeed in life and experience a brighter future.

The Boys & Girls Club is full of promise for thousands of children. It is a place where kids can play, have fun, experience joy, laugh, and learn about themselves and the larger world they live in. Kids are also given guidance to choose right from wrong.

At the Boys & Girls Club, we serve with one purpose: to inspire and enable young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence is part of a unified nationwide affiliation of some 3,700 Clubs. As such, Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence enjoys national recognition and community confidence based on a solid tradition of excellence in serving youth.

The staff at Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence provides children with activities designed to capture their interests, teach skills and build supportive relationships. These relationships are the means to a much greater end. They provide the opportunity to communicate rules and expectations; take meaningful challenges; build self-confidence and self-esteem; and offer hope and opportunity
